I love this place so much, that when I visit Cambridge, I make my hotel choice based on it being walking distance to Cafe’ Rustica. The 2 guys that run the place are warm, friendly, funny and although I’m there at most once or twice a year, they remember me. Best time to visit is when school starts, but it’s such a warm, homey place, brimming with locals, fresh piping hot coffees and teas, yummy bagels, simple breakfast sandwich’s and pastries. Lots of older Cambridge residents frequent the place as do students and a mix of those visiting town. Lots of academics and students from all over the world. Laid back, simple, often with global or cultural music playing. Can’t say enough good things about this place, if you sit and observe the patrons the plethora of diversity is … ok so obviously I like the place. Just keep in mind they serve the coffee and the eggs extra hot. Which is perfect for me. :)

Small local cafe that serves affordable coffee and amazing Italian sandwiches. For over two decades, Cafe Rustica has been a beloved cafe among the locals in this Somerville neighborhood. With classical music gently playing in the background, this quaint cafe offers a soothing ambiance that is perfect for a brief but relaxing stop. I’ve been coming to Cafe Rustica for a quick bite over the past two weeks. After trying their roast beef sandwich on my first visit, I instantly fell I love. The sandwiches here come with a perfectly toasted and pressed paninis, and each bite offered an irresistible crunch. Roast beef itself was just okay, so on my subsequent visit, I got the Italian tuna sandwich. Packed with classic Italian ingredients – like roasted peppers, a drizzle of olive oil, and fresh tomato – it was one of the best simple Italian sandwiches I had in a while. The cafe has a 45-minute limit on table usage, although I'm not entirely sure how strictly this rule is enforced. Despite the crowd during my visits, people didn’t seem to have any issue finding seating. If you’re looking for a simple Italian panini sandwiches, Cafe Rustica might just be one of the best options in the Greater Boston area. Will definitely be back to try more of their sandwiches.

Great city side place to eat. Friendly good service sandwich was delicious. Prices are at or just below pricing in a equal place for the city. Outside seating was nice to enjoy the beautiful weather.

I had maybe my favorite sandwich of all time at this quaint and unassuming cafe. Not in the loud bombastic sort of way, the overflowing ingredients arranged nicely for instagram, the punny names or the clever fusions. No, none of that. Just a simple sandwich with fresh, perfectly balanced ingredients, creating the perfect bite over and over. I wasn't expecting anything remotely of that caliber when I came for a lunch on a day off. But I took one bite and felt transported to a time when things were done right. Done for the sake of the craft and not to sell out or create lines. Done in a way that speaks of not knowing how to do it differently. It was truly spectacular. The iced coffee was terrible though.

We stopped in on a rainy Saturday morning for coffee and breakfast. Found this place randomly as we drive around looking for a local breakfast joint. We were pleasantly surprised. Farouk, the gentleman working the register, was friendly and treated us like family. The coffee was on point and the food was even better! Highly recommend

Came here for lunch for the first time when my friend was visiting and it did not disappoint, the sandwiches are fantastic! I appreciated all the toppings/condiments that could be added and the bread was amazing! On top of that, the staff were super friendly and welcoming. The cafe itself has a super cozy vibe and we ended up sitting on the back patio, it was a great experience, definitely add it to your list!

A cafe with a 4.8 high rating on Google Maps. The decor was rustic and cozy, the service was friendly and welcoming, and the owner mingled with customers, creating a relaxing vibe reminiscent of a rural community. Iced Latte: Perfect for my taste. The milk was generously poured, filling more than half the cup, with a naturally rich and creamy aroma; the coffee was hand-drip, not too bitter or acidic, and the overall feel was subtle and comfortable. What truly drew me in was two ladies sitting outside eating sandwiches. The sunlight dappled, making the vegetables look incredibly fresh and colorful, and the bread looked perfectly toasted, although I didn't order any since I had another lunch plan. Hope I can try it next time! Please note that a $0.50 fee applies when paying by credit card.
